Hog Roast Ambleside recently catered a birthday party for Bonnie, who was turning 60 and wanted to treat her family and close friends to a scrumptious hog roast of ours. We cook the freshly prepared meat at your venue at a low temperature, for several hours in total, until the insides are soft and moist and the outer becomes crispy, salty crackling. For her birthday, Bonnie wanted us to turn this traditional hog roast into our amazing pigs in buns, so once the hog had cooked to perfection, rested and then been carved, we would fill fresh, floury bread rolls and wraps with meat and crackling and top with our tasty apple sauce and sage and onion stuffing, and then her guests could add condiments if preferred before devouring and going back for more.
On Friday, the day of the birthday, our friendly Hog Roast Ambleside chef and assistant arrived at the venue, Bonnie’s home, early in the morning. We needed to be ready for a lunchtime service, so cracked on with setting up our equipment in the large, pretty garden and preparing the meat and then it was soon sizzling away.
Before we knew it, it was some hours later and the guests had arrived to the fabulous sight and aromas of the cooked pig. After a birthday toast, our team members served up the lovely grub to some very hungry guests, who were all licking their lips in anticipation.
