Whether you’re a big fan of the Royal Family or just enjoy having a reason to get people together, Trooping the Colour is one of those events that makes a perfect excuse. It’s a great way to kick off summer – with food, drinks, and everyone in good spirits.
For Hog Roast Manchester, Trooping the Colour 2025 turned out to be one of our busiest days to date. We had people all over Manchester reaching out early to make sure they got a spot. In fact, we were so packed that we actually had to turn a few bookings down. If that happened to you – sorry! Hopefully next year we’ll catch you.
Now, for the lucky ones who did get us booked in time, it was a day to remember. One customer, Monica, really went all in. She threw a big get-together in her back garden – friends, family, a few neighbours. It was certainly a full house, or rather, garden!
The weather wasn’t perfect (typical, right?), but Monica had it covered. She’d already set up a big gazebo and decorated the space like a mini street party with Union Jack bunting, lights strung across the whole thing, red, white, and blue balloons everywhere. Even the cups matched. She clearly wanted to make it special, and honestly, it showed.
Food-wise, she specifically asked for Hog Roast Manchester’s Full Classic Menu, and it went down an absolute treat. We served our signature hog roast complete with gluten-free and wholemeal rolls, crackling, sage and onion stuffing, applesauce, the works. There were also marinated chicken thighs, proper butcher’s sausages, and vegan BBQ jackfruit rolls (which, by the way, disappeared pretty quickly).
And the sides? Oh, there were plenty. Big bowls of leafy green salad, coleslaw, and a fresh tomato and mozzarella combo, all set out for guests to help themselves. We also brought along our full set of sauces and seasonings, so everyone could tweak things just how they liked.
From what we heard, Monica was over the moon and the guests couldn’t stop talking about the food. For Hog Roast Manchester, there really is nothing better than hearing people enjoy what we’ve made.
