Hog Roast Mallusk Supports Simon Week 2026!

Hog Roast Northern UKGood food, good company and the chance to support an important cause made for a pretty brilliant day out for the Hog Roast Mallusk team on the 22nd of September. Our catering crew had been invited along to serve up something delicious at a special staff and customer gathering, which was held as part of Simon Week 2026 in the hopes of bringing people together and raising awareness for homelessness across Northern Ireland.

Running from the 21st to the 25th of September, this year’s Simon Week campaign focused on “Homeless & Alone: One Big Push”, shining a light on the issue of single adult homelessness and supporting the Simon Community’s goal of ending this type of homelessness by 2030. It’s a hugely important message and one that the charity has been working to highlight for many decades.

With 60 staff and customers coming together for the day, there was plenty of opportunity for attendees to chat, catch up and find out more about the vital work being carried out by the Simon Community. And, naturally, Hog Roast Mallusk was also on hand to make sure everyone had something tasty to enjoy along the way.

For the catering, the client had specifically requested our crowd-pleasing Gourmet BBQ Menu, and we’re delighted to say went down a treat with everyone in attendance. With a generous selection of sizzling

meats to tuck into, alongside an equally tasty meat-free alternative, plus fresh and colourful side salads, the guests certainly weren’t short of choice. The variety made sure no one felt left out and encouraged guests to come back for extras before the event wrapped up.

For Hog Roast Mallusk, being part of the day was about more than simply serving up a good meal. We were proud to lend a hand with an event that was helping to get people talking about an issue that deserves greater awareness, while also getting to know some of the brilliant people involved with the Simon Community ourselves.

We had a truly fantastic time meeting everyone and were delighted to play our small part in Simon Week 2026 – and we hope to connect with them again in future.
