Earlier in 2023, Hog Roast Abbeystead was contacted by a local pub to provide catering at their upcoming quiz night. The event was being hosted as a way to draw in some new guests to the pub and to change up their usual weekend routine. The quiz had plenty of prizes on offer to entice guests, ranging from discounts to free drinks. Alongside the entertainment, the Hog Roast Abbeystead team was going to be on hand to serve a classic hog roast in the beer garden, which is the perfect accompaniment to an evening of drinks and fun.
In preparation for this event, the Hog Roast Abbeystead team is planning on arriving at this venue in the afternoon and getting to work on the hog. We will begin our food prep by slow-roasting the hog to perfection and ensuring that it is cooked evenly and packaged full of natural juices and flavours. Once ready, it will be expertly carved and served in fresh bread rolls, alongside sage and oni0on stuffing, homemade applesauce, and crispy crackling. Alternatively, we will be serving halloumi and vegetable skewers and veggie sausages for any meat-free guests. For the side dishes, the guests will be able to enjoy homemade chips and a selection of fresh salad dishes to create a varied evening buffet.
