As Halloween creeps up on us, Hog Roast Manchester is diving headfirst into the spooky season with a wicked lineup of creeptacular events across Manchester! From fancy dress discos to scare trails and pumpkin patch parties to corporate shindigs, we’ve been keeping busy with all things Halloween. Most recently, our team had the thrill of catering at a horror convention nearby, and let me tell you, it was a blast!
Horror lovers from across Manchester, decked out in their finest creepy costumes, gathered to embrace their love of all things gory and terrifying. The atmosphere was abuzz with excitement as exhibitors showcased everything from spine-chilling merch to creepy artwork. For us at Hog Roast Manchester, it was a golden opportunity to cater for an event that was a little out of the ordinary, and we were ready to impress!
As guests entered the venue, they were greeted by the sight of Hog Roast Manchester’s stall, where we had a full pig roasting on a spit over real flames. Talk about a showstopper! The theatrical display had people stopping in their tracks, captivated by the sight and the tantalising aroma wafting through the air. By the time the hog was cooked to perfection, the venue was filled with scrumptious scents, drawing a curious crowd ready to dive in.
Dozens of eager attendees watched as our head chef showed off his carving skills, expertly separating the crispy crackling from the soft, juicy meat within. Each slice revealed the tenderness of the pork, leaving everyone in awe. We served up this classic combo with our homemade sage and onion stuffing and a dollop of applesauce, all nestled in gluten-free and wholemeal rolls.
Of course, we didn’t forget about the non-meat-eaters either! Our BBQ-pulled jackfruit rolls with plant-based ‘slaw was the perfect alternative. Surprisingly meaty, this vegan dish even won over a few carnivores who couldn’t believe it was entirely plant-based!
Hog Roast Manchester’s food was a massive success at this horror convention, and we loved every minute of it. The chance to meet so many fascinating people while showcasing our culinary skills made this event one for the books.
