If you think BBQs are just for summer, think again! Perfectly grilled meat, indulgent side dishes and good company never go out of season – and last month, we got the chance to prove it!
Nicola, a charity organiser, had invited us to cater for an activity weekend she was hosting for 35 guests up here in Windermere at the iconic Farrowball Hall. This Victorian treasure in the heart of the Lake District was the perfect setting for Nicola’s big event. But the only thing that topped the incredible location was the food!
Hog Roast Windermere was on the job, serving our fan-favourite Gourmet BBQ Menu to the hungry group. We’re talking meaty spareribs that fell off the bone and had guests licking their fingers clean, succulent chicken kebabs with a spicy Thai kick, our chef’s own juicy sausages and – everyone’s favourite – handmade 100% British burgers made from premium free-range beef.
Guests with adventurous palates customised their protein with melty cheese and fried onions, plus huge helpings of side salads, coleslaw, hearty potatoes and mixed sweet potato and classic fries with salt, vinegar and a selection of sauces.
It wasn’t just the meat-eaters stuffing their faces either! Veggie and vegan guests were in their element with the amount of choices on offer. Plant-based burgers, meatless sausages, grilled veggie kebabs and smokey-sweet jackfruit sliders bursting with hickory goodness meant everyone had something tasty to sink their teeth into.
And, just when the guests thought they couldn’t eat another bite, Hog Roast Windermere rolled out our dessert options. Keeping things light and refreshing, we laid out a buffet of sweet fruit salad bursting with fresh fruit smothered in their own juices and individual cheesecakes with a light biscuity base and a creamy cheese filling. We’re drooling just thinking about it – and we know you are too!
Everyone had a cracking time at this event, thanks in no small part to Hog Roast Windermere. From the presentation to the flavours and bubbly customer service, our catering crew went above and beyond to make Nicola’s event a success.
