What an absolutely beautiful day it was celebrating the wedding of John & Katie at the lovely Highfield Cricket Club in Wigan! From the moment the first guests arrived to the final toast of the evening, the day was filled with joy, laughter, and an unmistakable buzz of celebration.
With 50 close friends and family gathered to share the occasion, we were honoured to provide a feast that matched the happiness in the air. Our slow-roasted hog took centre stage, its irresistible aroma drifting across the cricket pitch. The crispy crackling was a definite crowd-pleaser, disappearing almost as quickly as it was served! Alongside the hog, guests enjoyed generous helpings of both golden traditional fries and sweet potato fries — the perfect balance of comfort and indulgence. If you’re looking for a truly memorable Hog Roast Wigan experience, this was it.
For those who fancied something a little different, our juicy marinated chicken thighs came hot off the grill, bursting with flavour. And we couldn’t forget the vibrant grilled vegetable & halloumi skewers — colourful, fresh, and a big hit with both vegetarians and meat-lovers alike. Watching guests chat and laugh over shared platters was a reminder of what food is really about: bringing people together. Events like this show exactly why a Hog Roast Wigan celebration can be the perfect centrepiece for any gathering.
The sun was shining all afternoon, casting a golden glow over the celebrations. Glasses clinked, children played on the grass, and the sound of stories and well-wishes filled the air. From our perspective behind the serving tables, it was a joy to see so many happy faces and to play a part in such a special day.
As the evening drew in, there was still a sense that nobody wanted it to end — a true sign of a wedding done right. From all of us on the catering team, we wish John & Katie a lifetime of happiness, adventures, and shared meals as memorable as this one. If you’re planning your own special event, our Hog Roast Wigan team would love to help make it unforgettable.
