The Lake District is a prime location for many brides and grooms planning their wedding, and once you’ve experienced the true beauty of it for yourself, it’s easy to understand why. With its ties to iconic English wordsmiths like Beatrice Potter and William Wordsworth, not forgetting the breath taking forests, mountains and natural lakeside views (which makes for a stunning backdrop in your wedding photos!), this spectacular national park radiates whimsy and magic.
As caterers, Hog Roast Cockermouth has had the privilege of experiencing the Lake District’s splendour time and time again, with our most recent visit taking us to the secluded Low Hall The Lakes B&B and wedding venue for Becky and James’ nuptials at the start of October.
The happy couple had decided on an on-trend, rustic theme for their wedding, and Hog Roast Cockermouth was more than happy to match their preferred style by serving their chosen canapés and antipasti platters on our rustic wooden bamboo boards. Real China crockery and cutlery was used for the rest of the meal, however, which added a touch of elegance to the entire dining experience.
The menu itself was composed of three parts. This began with a choice of four delicious, bite-sized canapés, which our servers offered to all 100 guests as they arrived. Following this, everyone was treated to our Italian charcuterie boards, which included a tantalising selection of cold meats, cheeses, olives, sundried tomatoes, dressings and artisan bread. These delicious nibbles did a wonderful job of whetting everyone’s appetites so that by the time the main course was ready to be served, the guests were eager to satisfy their cravings with the gorgeous-smelling food that had filled the entire venue with mouth-watering aromas.
Without missing a beat, the Hog Roast Cockermouth team quickly served the Deep South inspired meats and matching side dishes to the seated guests, who got stuck in almost immediately. The bride and groom were so pleased with how well our catering crew handled their special day, and have since been in touch to thank our staff for all their hard work, which went towards making their wedding a huge success.
