This past week Hog Roast Grassington were proud to partake in an excellent event celebrating one of our long-time customers as Gianni from Grassington held his retirement party with friends, family, colleagues and ex-colleagues, and the chefs from Hog Roast Grassington.
Gianni has been using Hog Roast Grassington for his birthdays and various celebrations for a while now. We actually first got to know him because of the job that he is now retiring from, so it is great to be able to go full circle with him in that regard. Gianni has worked for 27 years with the same sales business, ascending from his junior position nearly three decades ago to a senior position at the top-end of the hierarchy. To say that Gianni has been beloved at his workplace would be an understatement. Even in our brief times with him, Gianni has always been the life of the room, and makes time for everyone around him, so this retirement was extra special with everyone coming out to celebrate a true character.
The event was held out of the hotel nearby to Gianni’s former workplace. Attendees were a mix of his family, friends, and the workers of the business, both present and former from Gianni’s entire 27 years there. Each guest was welcomed in by a Hog Roast Grassington server with a welcome drink and some light canapés. This is a similar service to how Gianni first met us at a corporate event around 18 years ago now, so it was on his demands to have similar in place again.
After a few rousing speeches from both Gianni, his ex-colleagues, and the current head of the business thanking Gianni for all of his work, the Hog Roast Grassington team presented our excellent hog roast on its spit, ready to be carved up and served fresh. The hog roast was served along with sage and onion stuffing, golden crackling, apple sauce, herb dressed new potatoes, seasonal mixed veg, homemade coleslaw, and a fresh salad serving. There was an alternative option of beef roast, or a BBQ pulled jackfruit option as a veggie alternative.
It was an excellent dinner for an incredible man, and we can only wish Gianni all the best now in retirement, He surely deserves it!
